Best-in-class grass control for better yields
In combination with Inzen™ grain sorghum, Zest™ WDG herbicide provides excellent postemergence control of grass weeds like foxtail, barnyardgrass and panicum. With a proven herbicide active ingredient that is new for sorghum (nicosulfuron), Zest WDG sorghum herbicide takes down weeds to enhance yield and profit potential. Trials of Pioneer brand sorghum with the Inzen trait showed an 18% yield advantage when using a preplant herbicide plus Zest WDG postemergence sorghum herbicide compared to using a preplant only.
Low use rate
Designed specifically for the grain sorghum market, Zest WDG has a low use rate of 0.67-1.33 oz/A (max. 1.8 oz/A per year), requiring less product for effective control of foxtail, barnyardgrass, panicum and other grass weeds in sorghum.
Convenience and control
Zest WDG conveniently fits into the Inzen™ grain sorghum system, allowing for a simple, in-crop application to control the toughest grasses in grain sorghum. Zest WDG is tank-mix compatible with most herbicides, insecticides and fungicides registered on sorghum. The wide application window of Zest WDG allows farmers greater control over application timing and more flexibility in managing their fields.
Better land stewardship
Zest WDG grain sorghum herbicide is part of a program approach to control weeds in Inzen grain sorghum and reduce the risk for weed resistance. The program approach includes applying a preemergence application of FulTime® NXT† or Cinch® ATZ† herbicides followed by a postemergence application of Zest WDG postemergence sorghum herbicide.
Post-Emergence Grass Control for Sorghum
Researchers at Colorado State University field-tested Pioneer® brand sorghum with the Inzen™ trait, both with and without postemergence applications of Zest™ WDG herbicide. Grain sorghum with the Inzen trait treated with Zest WDG herbicide showed superior control of barnyardgrass.
