Welcome to Chesapeake Farms

Tucked away in the serenity of Maryland's Eastern Shore, Chesapeake Farms embodies the values that drive the Corteva purpose forward - to enrich the lives of those who produce and those who consume.

Research & Education

Chesapeake Farms services as fertile ground for research, education, and demonstration of advanced agricultural technologies across all of the Corteva Agriscience business units. Approximately 75 acres are devoted to research and demonstration of seed and crop protection products, while field-scale demos and product comparisons are conducted in the cash grain fields. The farm's proximity to Washington, D.C. and Wilmington, Delaware offers an easy trip to government stakeholders and Corteva employees. Demonstration plots are grown to host educational experiences for regulators, policymakers, customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Stewardship

Located on one of the largest conservation easements in Maryland, the property is protected in perpetuity from development. In 2012, the farm became one of the first farms in Maryland to be named a Certified Agricultural Conservation Steward. The harmony between modern farming practices and wildlife conservation found at Chesapeake Farms embodies the core stewardship values prioritized at Corteva.
