Help Customers Choose the Right Soybean Residual

Three factors can make spring more challenging for weed control First, wet harvests can prevent fall herbicide applications. Next, certain winter conditions are conducive to spring weed growth in many areas. Finally, prevent plant acres can leave many fields especially vulnerable to weed pressure.

Remind farmers of the importance of using strong residual herbicides. Without them, herbicide-resistant weeds like waterhemp and Palmer amaranth will likely flourish — choking fields of sunlight, moisture and nutrients and resulting in the potential for reduced yield at harvest.

The best plan of attack is recommending powerful residual herbicides as part of a program approach to weed control — starting clean with a burndown application and then following with effective preemergence and postemergence herbicides. A program approach helps farmers control tough weeds in multiple ways for exceptional season-long weed control.

Effective Soybean Residual Herbicide Options

  • DuPontTrivence® herbicide uses three modes of action to provide both burndown and residual activity on a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds. This powerful combination keeps fields clean well after soybean planting and supports uniform crop emergence.
  • Sonic® herbicide offers the flexibility to be applied preemergence up to three days postplant. Sonic is proven to deliver long-lasting residual control on a broad spectrum of weeds by using two unique modes of action to attack weeds multiple ways and effectively manage herbicide resistance.
  • DuPontEverpreX® herbicide can be applied at planting or postemergence for an effective layer of season-long control of annual grasses and small-seeded broadleaf weeds, including ALS-, PPO- and glyphosate-resistant weeds.
  • Surveil® herbicide delivers farmers the convenience of two resistance-fighting active ingredients in one easy-to-use premix. Plus, Surveil provides a nine-month plant-back rotation to cotton, dry beans, rice or sorghum. So, there’s the option to plant high-value crops next season, even when soybean crops get planted late.
