Illinois Farmer and Retailer: Fighting Corn Weeds With a Powerful Program Approach

Something went wrong. Please try again later...

Weed control is a team effort for farmer Allen Tompkins and retailer Jeremy Leininger. Tompkins grows corn in Smithboro, Illinois. He says he trusts Leininger to give proven product recommendations, and using Resicore® and SureStart® II herbicides as part of a program approach is one of Leininger’s suggestions.

Leininger works at Woolsey Brothers Farm Supply in Vandalia, Illinois. He says the farmers Woolsey Brothers works with use the combination of Resicore and SureStart II on 95% of their corn acres.

Tompkins says the program is great for controlling troublesome, resistant weeds, particularly waterhemp and marestail.

Last summer, Tompkins invited us to his farm to show just how well his weed control program works. Watch the video to see how clean his fields were last summer despite a cold, rainy spring. You can learn the ins and outs of Resicore and SureStart II at Corteva.us.
