Kasey_Bamberger“Our approach is to farm in a way that allows for future generations to farm. This requires maintaining a strong data and financial foundation and approach, but also being good stewards of the land to ensure productive land in the future.”

Kasey Bamberger is a member of a multi-generational farm in Southwest Ohio, raising corn, soybeans and soft red winter wheat on 21,000 acres. Utilizing a combination of no-till, reduced tillage and cover crops, Kasey and her family actively model soil health and carbon sequestration through a robust bio-geo-chemical data analysis. Changes in yields, the impact of weather variability, and net change in profitability are also key factors to maintaining or scaling climate positive practices.

Kasey and her family regularly report learnings with no-till and cover crop trials with a peer group of similar sized farms from across the country, but also with a buying group consisting of 33 local farms who manage 250,000 acres. Additionally, they frequently talk with farmers who inquire about their practices and experiences. The family continually seeks out information on the climate positive practices they are implementing along with data and insights on nitrogen use efficiency and products to reduce total nitrogen application.
