Kalo grown on Field 107 at our Hawai‘i Research Center served as poi to more than 70 O‘ahu schools

Thanks to He Mea ‘Ono Poi and Pomai Kulolo LLC

We're proud to be home to He Mea ‘Ono Poi's lo‘i on Kaua‘i that supports the state Department of Education's farm-to-school initiative! The kalo used by Pomai Kulolo LLC, which provided the first round of poi to more than 70 Oʻahu schools, was grown on our Field 107 on Kaua‘i! In May, the DOE served more than 23,000 servings of poi in 4-ounce portions to participating schools for the first time in over a decade.
