TerraVue Herbicide Offers Advanced Weed and Brush Control with Selectivity to Desirable Species

INDIANAPOLIS — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has unconditionally registered TerraVue herbicide from Corteva Agriscience for the 2020 season. Use sites include, but are not limited to, roadsides, utility rights-of-way, natural areas and wildlife management areas, including grazed areas in and around these sites.

TerraVue features Rinskor active, a new active ingredient in the vegetation management (VM) market, designed to deliver superior weed and brush control with tolerance to grasses, forbs, shrubs and other desirable plants. That combination provides two-fold advantages to vegetation managers.

“The excellent selectivity of TerraVue to desirable species such as grasses and forbs helps create a natural barrier against incompatible or invasive species, which can reduce future maintenance costs on areas like rights-of-way,” said John Kalthoff, Marketing Category Lead, Land Management, Corteva Agriscience. “It also helps improve biodiversity on managed lands, making them more attractive for a variety of wildlife species, including critical species of pollinators.”

TerraVue is labeled to control more than 140 broadleaf weed species as well as multiple woody plant species. Rinskor active, recipient of the 2018 Green Chemistry Challenge Award, partners with the proven active aminopyralid, to deliver TerraVue features including:

  • Low use rate
  • Low-odor formulation
  • Ability to use on grazed areas
  • Flexibility across use sites
  • Season-long residual control
  • Low volatility
  • Safety to desirable grasses, forbs and shrubs
  • Two active ingredients classified as reduced risk under the EPA’s Conventional Reduced Risk Pesticide Program

“Corteva has a rich history of bringing innovative herbicide solutions to market that better serve the unique needs of the vegetation management industry,” Kalthoff said. “TerraVue herbicide is the new centerpiece of a robust portfolio of VM herbicides from Corteva and will provide vegetation managers with almost unlimited flexibility in how they manage use sites.”

TerraVue herbicide will be available to vegetation managers for the 2020 application season.
