Good nitrogen management is one of the most important objectives for your customers each season. You know they need reliable products and expertise to ensure a good return on their nitrogen investments. That’s why Corteva Agriscience has created a Nutrient Maximizers portfolio in time for the 2022 growing season.

The Nutrient Maximizers product suite is comprised of nitrogen management solutions ranging from nitrogen stabilizers to nutrient efficiency optimizers, which allow farmers to achieve optimal yield potential, while increasing sustainability efforts.

As part of this effort, customers will be able to access a specialized support team dedicated to helping farmers protect their fertilizer investments who pair industry leading products with cutting edge technologies to build innovative and sustainable solutions.

Brittany Loewen has been named sales leader for the portfolio and will lead this new team of technical experts. Loewen has 14 years in the agriculture business and was a retail channel leader prior to stepping into this new role.

“We’re proud to provide a combination of services and products that will allow farmers to maximize fertilizer investments,” says Loewen. “The Nutrient Maximizers portfolio is comprised of products that deliver industry-leading crop data and a strong team committed to helping farmers get the most out of every acre.”

What Are Nutrient Maximizers?

You know that nitrogen is one of the most expensive inputs for a farmer each season. You also know that volatile nitrogen prices are costing your customers double, even triple, what they did two years ago. A Nutrient Maximizer is a solution that helps a farmer get the max out of that nitrogen investment.

Nutrient Maximizers from Corteva Agriscience include both nitrogen stabilizers – which protect a farmer’s nitrogen fertilizer from loss – and a nutrient efficiency optimizer – which is an alternative nitrogen fixation product.

“As fertilizer prices continue to fluctuate, it’s vital that farmers protect their bottom line with a strategic nutrient management program,” says William Wynn, U.S. product manager, Nutrient Maximizers, Corteva Agriscience. “The Nutrient Maximizers portfolio offers farmers and retailers a comprehensive suite of options to properly manage nitrogen on their operations.”

There are currently four products in the Nutrient Maximizers portfolio:

Benefits for Retailers and Farmers

The Nutrient Maximizers portfolio will offer you and your customers further benefits beyond a customizable suite of nitrogen management solutions.

“One the most beneficial aspects of this effort is that Corteva will be hiring a team of technical experts who have a background in, and passion for, nutrient management to work with customers,” says Justin Dikeman, U.S. portfolio marketing leader, Nutrient Maximizers, Corteva Agriscience. “The team will provide local insights and recommendations that are customized by geographical needs in collaboration with current in-market teams.”

“Another exciting aspect of this portfolio creation is that the products offered will help enhance customers’ sustainability efforts. The nitrogen stabilizers prevent the loss of nitrogen into the environment, both the air and water,” says Wynn. “In addition to the nitrogen stabilizers, Utrisha N nutrient efficiency optimizer is a sustainable biological solution.”

Here’s a closer look at how each product can help your customers protect their natural resources:

  • Optinyte® technology, which powers N-Serve and Instinct NXTGEN, prevents nitrogen loss below ground from leaching and denitrification. Optinyte it also proven to:1
    • Reduce leaching by 16%.
    • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51%.
    • Promote 28% greater soil nitrogen retention.
  • PinnitMax TG is shown to prevent nitrogen loss above ground from volatilization for up to 14 days, giving it more time to be used by crops instead of escaping into the environment.
  • The bacteria in Utrisha N capture nitrogen from the atmosphere, converting it to ammonium for crops to use. The bacteria cannot be removed or washed away and lives and grows within the crops throughout the season. Most importantly, in terms of sustainability, the bacteria doesn’t overproduce nitrogen, making the solution environmentally friendly.

A Leader in Nitrogen Management

Above all the benefits this portfolio provides, the most important is that it will help your customers manage their nitrogen to optimize yield potential for the best possible return on investment.

“Corteva Agriscience has been a leader in the nitrogen management industry for decades. We are thrilled to continue that leadership with this portfolio, which is comprised of products that consistently deliver results,” says Dikeman. “In fact, Optinyte technology, which powers N-Serve and Instinct NXTGEN, has more than 45 years of trusted experience shaping the nitrogen stabilizer category. These products are proven to increase yield by an average of 5.2% when used with spring nitrogen applications and by an average of 7% when used with fall applications.”1

The right amount of nitrogen is essential for maximum yield potential. However, nitrogen is susceptible to loss – from leaching and denitrification below ground and volatilization above ground – the moment it’s applied. Ensuring nitrogen is in the root zone when corn needs it most for optimal yield potential is a nuanced effort that requires reliable products and technical expertise. You and your customers will have access to all of those with this new business portfolio.
